Pumpkin, apple, date syrup, a big splash of cider and some mulling spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and mixed spice) combine with scotch bonnets to make the perfect sauce for xmas: Pork pies, turkey butties, cold cuts and cheeseboards will all be livened up by a blob of this. More tasty than hot, you can give it to an elderly relative without fear of heart failure.
Vegans, when faced with only a pile of oven snacks for the 4th day running (spring rolls, garlic mushrooms, etc) might find that this is a welcome change from the ubiquitous sweet chilli dipping sauce.
